Enrolled undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for Student Health Insurance coverage. As of the 15th calendar day of fall and spring semesters, students who are registered for and participating in nine (9) or more hours of credit and are assessed general fees are also automatically included and assessed a fee for Student Health Insurance. Students who are assessed only outreach fees are not eligible for Student Health Insurance.
Continuous year‐round coverage is available. If a student is participating in six or more credit hours of pre‐registered summer course work (by May 22, 2017), which assesses general fees, the student is automatically enrolled in, and assessed a fee for the Plan. If a student received academic credit for at least nine hours & was insured in the spring, and will not enroll for sufficient summer hours to be assessed an insurance fee, the summer fee can be applied for through GO ISU. The Student Insurance option is found under the MAIN MENU of CAMPUS SOLUTIONS in GO ISU. Summer 2017 coverage can be requested between April 10, 2017 and May 22, 2017.
The Student Health Insurance fee does not buy access to the Student Health Service. For information on Student Health Service eligibility, view our Student Fees.
Students who will not be registered for sufficient credit hours in the fall to qualify for Student Health Insurance because of academic program requirements (i.e., interns, student teachers, graduate assistants) are eligible to purchase fall coverage by applying through GOISU between July 10th and September 4th.
Students registered at ISU for Study Abroad are assessed the Student Health Insurance fee. Such students are eligible to apply to expand the coverage period by direct payment of the premium for the previous or subsequent term, dependent upon program dates and requirements.
Insured summer students enrolling for fewer than 9 credit hours fall due to the writing of a dissertation or thesis, are eligible to fall coverage by applying through GOISU between July 10th and September 4th.
Insured graduating students who will not be enrolled in classes during the following term may continue coverage for one additional term. Students graduating in May are eligible to purchase summer coverage by applying through GOISU between April 10th and May 22nd.
