Student Health Services has a Registered Dietitian that can help you learn how to improve your health through nutrition. The dietitian specializes in several areas from diabetes management, renal nutrition, cardiovascular health, and currently specializing in weight management and eating disorders.
A typical visit with our dietitian may consist of an assessment of your current health needs and diet. Additionally, the dietitian can counsel the patient on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits. The advantages of visiting a dietitian is that they tailor the patients nutrition advice and goals through the assessment of the current nutrition plan.
Additionally, Student Health Services staff, including our Registered Dietitian, are part of the National Eating Disorder Network. Illinois State University has an Eating Disorder Network on campus consistenting of multidisciplinary health experts working collaboratively to offer services for assessment, treatment, and prevention of disordered eating.
